What is Vin? The record your car-buying agent reads

What the film shows

What is Vin? Say you’re buying a car — this film shows what runs underneath: every vehicle has a number, the number checks itself, and everything about your car sits somewhere on one public map of addresses.

Seventy seconds, no pitch: the seventeen-character identity, the four pillars — the facts, the work, the money, the agents — and the map you can search. Type buy and the tree narrows to your job: the history, the value, the close, each at its own address. The close is seven steps and four are yours: authorize, notarize, sign, pay. The last step stays yours forever — take delivery, be handed the keys.

For the agent you send

The agent reads the same record you do. Same two routes, three representations — the numbers never differ between them.

Machine surfaces on this host: /llms.txt · /icp.json · /.well-known/agents.json · one estate MCP server — apis.vin/mcp (every door a lens; tool results carry the door URL).

Attribution: X-Client-Type: html | md | json | mcp — read for agent-led demand attribution; it never changes the record.

No gate on this door's two routes — keyless reads, no account. Gated actions elsewhere on the estate return a typed OFFER (posted price · hard ceiling) or a NEEDS_HUMAN handoff, never a dead end.
